De uma forma geral, podemos apresentar 2 tipos de circunstâncias que geram dor ao morder:
- Contato prematuro - há uma "restauração alta" nesse dente, ou seja, quando mordemos NORMALMENTE, ha uma distribuição da carga por TODA A ARCADA, por todos os dentes. Quando temos um contato prematuro, ha uma "CENTRALIZAÇÃO" de toda a carga sobre UM DENTE, gerando um desconforto no periodonto. Deve ser realizado um ajuste oclusal, e o paciente deve morder normalmente sobre esse dente, realizando uma espécie de fisioterapia, para o mesmo voltar ao normal.
- Lesão periapical - quando existe bactérias na ponta da raiz, o organismo sabiamente forma uma cápsula, para que as mesmas nao caiam na corrente sanguínea, ao morder sobre esse elemento dental, há uma pressão sobre essas bactérias o que gera a dor.
